Ammonium nitrate is an oxidiser. It does not burn on its own, but it will feed a fire that has started, so store it in a cool, dry, well ventilated place kept clear of fuels, oils, greases, organic material, acids and combustible packaging, and away from heat and ignition sources. Contamination is the risk that matters most, so keep the area clean and keep bags closed and off the floor: the material takes up moisture from the air and cakes. Quantity limits, separation distances and magazine conditions follow whatever your own permit specifies.

Porous prill is a different specification made for commercial blasting and it moves through licensed explosives channels, so it is not part of this listing. If blasting material is what you need, the licensed explosives supplier appointed to your site is the right route.
What is the nitrogen content?
Ammonium nitrate is 35% nitrogen by calculation from the formula, split evenly between nitrate and ammoniacal nitrogen, and commercial material assays a little below that. That is the textbook figure, not an assay from a certificate: the number that applies to your consignment is the one on its own certificate of analysis. What pack sizes and origins are available?
25 kg bags are the standard pack, and we have supplied material of Chinese, French, Indian, Korean and Vietnamese origin. Ask for them at the enquiry stage and we will request them from the source we would quote.
