Information we receive

Enquiries

When you send the enquiry form, we receive your name, company and email address. You may also provide a telephone number, product requirements, quantity, grade, delivery location or other details. Product enquiry forms also include the relevant product name so that we can respond in context.

Direct contact

If you contact us by email, telephone or WhatsApp, we receive the information you choose to send and the contact details needed to reply. WhatsApp is operated by Meta and is subject to its own terms and privacy practices.

Technical data

Our hosting and security provider processes the technical information needed to deliver and protect the website. This can include an IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, request times and security or error logs.

How we use the information

We use the information described above to:

• answer enquiries and prepare quotations;
• discuss products, specifications, availability and delivery;
• maintain records of business communications;
• operate, secure and troubleshoot the website; and
• meet applicable record-keeping or legal requirements.

We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not use enquiry details for unrelated automated profiling.

Analytics and cookies

ChemTrade uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use this website. This can include pages viewed, referral information, approximate location, browser and device information, and interactions with the site. Google Analytics may use identifiers stored in first-party analytics cookies. We do not currently use Google Tag Manager or Google Ads conversion tracking.

The Google tag is delivered through Cloudflare Google tag gateway. Measurement requests use a path on this domain before Cloudflare forwards them to Google. We also use Google Search Console to understand how pages appear in Google Search; Search Console does not require an analytics script or cookie on this website.

Service providers

We use a small number of providers to operate the website:

• Cloudflare hosts and delivers the website, routes email sent to our public address, and helps protect these services from abusive or malicious traffic. It also serves and forwards Google Analytics requests through Google tag gateway.
• Google processes website enquiry and direct-email details through Apps Script and Google Workspace to deliver notifications to ChemTrade by email. Google also provides Google Analytics and Google Search Console.
• Resend is retained as an alternative enquiry-delivery provider and processes enquiry details only when that delivery method is enabled.
• WhatsApp / Meta processes communications when you choose to contact us through WhatsApp.

These providers may process information in countries where they or their infrastructure operate. We disclose information to them only as needed to provide the relevant service. We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect the website, ChemTrade or other people.

Retention

We keep enquiry and business-communication records only for as long as they are reasonably needed to respond, follow up, maintain business records, resolve disputes and meet applicable obligations. Technical and security logs and analytics data are retained according to operational need, configured service settings and the policies of the provider that processes them.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information handled through this website. No method of internet transmission or storage is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

Your information requests

You may ask what personal information we hold about you or request a correction or deletion. We may need enough information to verify the request, and some records may need to be retained for legitimate business or legal reasons.

This website links to services and websites operated by other organisations. Their privacy practices apply when you use those services, and ChemTrade does not control them.
