Sodium Percarbonate (Oxygen Bleach) Supplier in Malaysia
- Also known as
- Sodium Carbonate Peroxyhydrate
- Oxygen Bleach
- Sodium Carbonate Peroxide
- Percarbonate
ChemTrade supplies sodium percarbonate to detergent blenders, textile mills and industrial cleaners across Malaysia, in 25 kg bags out of Selangor. Sold as oxygen bleach and declared on transport documents as sodium carbonate peroxyhydrate, it is hydrogen peroxide in solid form. The granules dissolve to release peroxide and leave soda ash behind rather than a chloride residue.
Two grades matter. Coated granules carry a stabilising surface layer that keeps the active oxygen intact while a powder sits in storage, which is why coated is the default for laundry and dishwash formulations. Uncoated runs higher on active oxygen and cheaper per kilo of oxygen delivered, and suits a batch that is made up and used rather than stored.
Beyond detergent blending it bleaches cotton where a chlorine residue would be a problem, sanitises tanks, kegs and process equipment in breweries and food plants, and brightens recovered fibre. Korean and Chinese origin material is available. Where a plant would rather not keep drums of liquid peroxide, bagged percarbonate is the same oxidising chemistry on a pallet.
Sodium percarbonate is an oxidising solid, UN 3378, class 5.1, packing group III, so it ships under dangerous goods documentation rather than as general cargo. We handle that paperwork with the consignment. Tell us the grade, granulation and quantity and we will confirm stock and quote.

Sodium Percarbonate grades and forms
We supply several forms to suit different formulating and dosing setups. If you need a size that is not listed, ask us.
| Grade | Form | Assay | Typical use | Packing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coated sodium percarbonate | free flowing white granules | ≥ 13.0% active oxygen | The detergent grade. A stabilising layer on each granule slows the loss of active oxygen while the material sits in a dry blend alongside enzymes, surfactants and residual moisture, so a powder made with it still bleaches after months in a warehouse. This is the grade we hold, in Korean and Chinese origin. | 25 kg bag |
| Uncoated sodium percarbonate | free flowing white granules | ≥ 13.5% active oxygen | More active oxygen per kilo and nothing to dissolve off first, so it goes into solution faster and costs less per kilo of oxygen delivered. Suits batches that are made up and used rather than stored: bleaching liquor, tank and equipment sanitising, effluent dosing. Sourced to order rather than held. | 25 kg bag |

Sodium Percarbonate applications
Safety and handling
- Classification
- oxidiser, may intensify fire, harmful if swallowed, causes serious eye damage
- UN number
- 3378
- Hazard class
- 5.1
Store bags closed in a cool dry place, off the floor and out of direct sun, away from acids, reducing agents and combustible material. Damp is what costs you active oxygen: material that has taken up moisture begins to decompose, and traces of iron, copper or manganese accelerate it, so keep scoops and transfer containers clean. Handle with gloves and eye protection and avoid raising dust. Never seal spilled material into a closed container, as decomposition releases oxygen.
Common questions about sodium percarbonate
Should I specify coated or uncoated?
Coated if it is going into a powder that has to sit on a shelf, because the surface layer slows the loss of active oxygen in a blend that also holds enzymes, surfactants and a little moisture. Uncoated if the batch is made up and used, since it carries more active oxygen per kilo and nothing has to dissolve off first. Coated is the grade we hold, uncoated is sourced to order.
What active oxygen content do you supply?
Coated runs at 13.0% active oxygen minimum, uncoated at 13.5% minimum, with a solution pH of 10 to 11 measured at 3%. Each consignment carries its own certificate of analysis, so work to that rather than to the typical figures on this page. If you hold a tighter limit, send the specification and we will buy against it.
How should it be stored so it does not lose strength?
Bag closed, cool, dry, off the floor and out of the sun, away from acids, reducing agents and anything combustible. Moisture is the enemy: granules that have taken up damp start to decompose and the bag warms slightly. Traces of iron, copper or manganese speed that along, so do not decant into a scoop or drum that has held something else.
Is it a fine powder or granules?
Free flowing granules, closer to coarse sugar than to flour. Granules meter accurately through volumetric dosing and raise far less dust when charged by hand, but a granule too coarse for the rest of a dry blend will segregate in the bag. If your blend needs a particular granulation, say so when you enquire and we will check what the source can give.
Is sodium percarbonate classed as dangerous goods for transport?
Yes. It moves as UN 3378, sodium carbonate peroxyhydrate, class 5.1 oxidising solid, packing group III. In practice that means correct marking, packaging and declaration on the consignment note, which we take care of, and it is why it cannot share a pallet with acids or reducing agents.
What packing is available, and do you supply small quantities?
The standard pack is a 25 kg bag and we quote from bag quantities upward. We trade in industrial volumes, so a one kilogram tub for household laundry is not something we pack. If a production trial needs a size other than 25 kg, ask and we will see what the source can do.
Do you also supply sodium perborate?
Yes, monohydrate and tetrahydrate. If a formulation calls for perborate instead, we can quote both so you can compare them on cost per kilo of active oxygen.
