Is MEK the same as MIBK or MEKP?
No. MEK is butanone used as a fast ketone solvent. MIBK is a different ketone solvent, and MEKP is a peroxide hardener rather than a paint thinner.
Which MEK grade do coating shops usually buy?
Industrial MEK covers most paint thinning and gun-wash duty. Ask for high-purity material only when the resin maker sets explicit water or non-volatile limits.
Can MEK replace toluene one-for-one in every formula?
