Sodium Silicofluoride Supplier in Malaysia

  • Also known as
  • Sodium Fluorosilicate
  • Sodium Hexafluorosilicate
  • Sodium Silico Fluoride
  • Sodium Fluosilicate

Sodium silicofluoride supplier for water treatment, glass, concrete and formulation buyers in Malaysia. The same salt is traded as sodium fluorosilicate, sodium hexafluorosilicate, sodium fluosilicate and SSF (CAS 16893-85-9, Na2SiF6), and it is a white odourless crystalline powder or granule that is only sparingly soluble in water.

Grade selection turns on assay, particle size and moisture rather than on any difference in chemistry. Water-treatment grade is bought against a plant specification for dry feeder dosing, technical grade covers glass, enamel and flux work, and granular or finely milled material is chosen for dust control or fast dispersion in a blend.

The main uses are fluoride dosing in water treatment, opacifying and fluxing in glass, opal glass, glazes and enamels, concrete hardening and floor dustproofing, timber preservation, metallurgical fluxes, laundry sour and pest-control formulation. Supply is subject to applicable requirements.

Sodium silicofluoride is not sodium fluoride and not hydrofluoric acid, and despite the shared word it is unrelated to sodium silicate. Name the grade, the specification limits it has to meet, the tonnage and the destination. What can be supplied, in what packing and on what timing comes back with the quotation.

Sodium Silicofluoride grades and forms

We supply several forms to suit different formulating and dosing setups. If you need a size that is not listed, ask us.

GradeFormAssayTypical usePacking
Water-treatment grade sodium silicofluoridewhite crystalline powder or granules to the stated specificationFluoride dosing at municipal and industrial water plants running dry feeders, where assay and particle-size limits are written into the plant specification.Sealed dry packing, stated at quotation stage.
Technical grade sodium silicofluoridewhite crystalline powderGlass and opal glass batches, ceramic glazes, enamels and frits, and aluminium or metallurgical flux blends where an industrial assay is acceptable.Sealed dry packing, stated at quotation stage.
Granular sodium silicofluoridefree-flowing granules or coarse crystalsConcrete hardening and floor dustproofing treatments and timber preservative mixes, where a coarser particle keeps dust down during make-up.Sealed dry packing, stated at quotation stage.

How to buy sodium silicofluoride from ChemTrade

Ordering

Name the grade you need (water treatment, technical, granular or finely milled) together with any assay, moisture or sieve limits, the process it feeds, the tonnage you buy per shipment and where it is going.

Delivery

Packing, documentation, the route used and how quickly the material can move are settled at quotation stage against the destination you give.

Pricing

Prices are quoted per enquiry and hold for a stated validity window. Grade, sieve requirement, tonnage and destination all move the number, and offers track phosphate-industry output because this salt is largely a co-product of it.

Sodium Silicofluoride applications

Safety and handling

Treat this as a toxic dust in the store and at the point of use. Keep the containers closed in a dry, ventilated store, clear of acids and well away from food, feed and drinking water. Shelve it apart from other fluoride salts so the wrong one cannot be picked in error. Dust control at weighing and make-up matters most: use gloves, eye protection and appropriate respiratory protection, and work to the safety information supplied with the grade offered. Supply is subject to applicable requirements.

Common questions about sodium silicofluoride

Is sodium silicofluoride the same as sodium fluorosilicate or sodium hexafluorosilicate?

Yes, these are three names for the same salt, Na2SiF6, and sodium fluosilicate and disodium hexafluorosilicate refer to it as well. Silicofluoride is the spelling most used in Southeast Asian trade, so either name on an enquiry is understood.

Is sodium silicofluoride the same as sodium fluoride?

No. Sodium fluoride is a different salt with a different fluoride content and dosing behaviour, and the two are not interchangeable in a plant specification. State which salt the process requires by name.

How does it differ from hydrofluorosilicic acid?

Hydrofluorosilicic acid is the liquid acid form of the same fluorosilicate chemistry and is handled as a corrosive solution. Sodium silicofluoride is the dry sodium salt, which is why plants without acid handling equipment often prefer it.

Which grade should a water treatment plant request?

Ask for the water-treatment grade and quote the assay, moisture and particle-size or sieve limits written into the plant specification, since dry feeders are sensitive to flow characteristics. Send the current specification with the enquiry rather than a generic grade name.

Why is particle size important for sodium silicofluoride?

Because the material is dosed and blended as a solid. Feeder accuracy, dust generation and dissolution rate all follow the particle size, so a plant running volumetric or gravimetric dry feeders should state the sieve range it is set up for.

Is sodium silicofluoride related to sodium silicate?

No, despite the similar looking name. Sodium silicate is an alkaline silicate with no fluoride, used in adhesives, detergents and binders, and it is ordered as a separate product by name.

What details are needed for a sodium silicofluoride quotation?

The grade, any assay, fluorine, moisture or sieve limits, the process it feeds, tonnage per shipment and the destination. Listing document requirements at the same time avoids a second exchange.
