Cyclohexane Supplier in Malaysia
- Also known as
- Hexahydrobenzene
- Benzene Hexahydride
- C6H12
Cyclohexane supplier in Malaysia for solvent, adhesive, resin and petrochemical buyers. Older specifications call it hexahydrobenzene or benzene hexahydride (CAS 110-82-7, C6H12), and it is a clear, colourless volatile liquid with a mild petrol-like odour. It is practically insoluble in water and mixes freely with hydrocarbon solvents.
Buyers choose between technical material for general plant solvent work, tighter extraction or high-purity grades for adhesives and laboratory use, and petrochemical feedstock volumes for oxidation. Aromatic content, residue and water are the limits that separate one grade from the next. Say which of them the process controls.
Demand comes from rubber cement and adhesive compounding, paint and varnish removers, extraction and recrystallisation duty, degreasing formulations and the nylon intermediate chain. Cyclohexane is the saturated hydrocarbon and not the ketone cyclohexanone, which is a separate product downstream of it. It is also distinct from hexane and methylcyclohexane.
Send the grade, controlling limits, volume per shipment and receiving location with your enquiry. Packing, documentation, handling and timing are set out in the quotation. Supply is subject to applicable requirements.

Cyclohexane grades and forms
We supply several forms to suit different formulating and dosing setups. If you need a size that is not listed, ask us.
| Grade | Form | Assay | Typical use | Packing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Technical grade cyclohexane | clear, colourless volatile liquid | — | Plant solvent duty on resins, fats, waxes, oils, bitumen and rubber, where a non-polar cyclic hydrocarbon is written into the process rather than a broad aliphatic cut. | Drum and IBC quantities are the usual packed formats. The format is settled in the quotation. |
| Extraction and high-purity cyclohexane | clear, colourless volatile liquid | — | Adhesive and rubber-cement compounding, extraction steps and laboratory recrystallisation or chromatography, where residue, water and impurity limits are read off a tighter specification. | Drum quantities suit smaller laboratory and formulation volumes. Confirm the format in the quotation. |
| Petrochemical feedstock cyclohexane | clear, colourless volatile liquid | — | Oxidation feed on the nylon route, consumed by the buyer rather than formulated with, and taken in continuous rather than packed quantities. | Bulk tank or flexitank movement fits this scale and is settled in the quotation. |

Cyclohexane applications
Safety and handling
Hold containers closed in a cool, well-ventilated store, earthed during transfer and clear of heat, sparks and strong oxidisers. Both liquid and vapour are flammable and the vapour is heavier than air, so ventilate at low level and work to the safety data sheet for the grade quoted. Supply is subject to applicable requirements.
Common questions about cyclohexane
Is cyclohexane the same as hexane or methylcyclohexane?
No, all three are separate products with their own pages. Cyclohexane is the six-carbon saturated ring, hexane covers the straight-chain C6 aliphatic cuts, and methylcyclohexane carries an extra methyl group on the ring. Order the one named on your specification.
Is cyclohexane the same as cyclohexanone or cyclohexanol?
No. Cyclohexane is the plain hydrocarbon with no oxygen in it, whereas cyclohexanone is the ketone and cyclohexanol the alcohol made from it by oxidation. Buyers who need the oxygenated material should ask for it by name, since the properties and pricing differ.
Are hexahydrobenzene and benzene hexahydride the same as cyclohexane?
Yes. Both are older names for the same substance at CAS 110-82-7, and they still turn up on legacy specifications and imported documents. The material is fully saturated, so it does not behave as an aromatic despite the naming.
Which cyclohexane grade should I request?
Technical grade covers general solvent duty on resins, waxes, oils and bitumen. Extraction and high-purity material is chosen for adhesives, rubber cement and laboratory work with tighter residue and water limits. Feedstock volumes go to oxidation plants. Quote the limits that matter.
Why does cyclohexane solidify in cool storage?
Its melting point sits near 6.5 degrees Celsius, unusually high for a volatile solvent, so refrigerated transport or a cold store can leave it partly frozen. Malaysian ambient conditions keep it liquid, but chilled areas and imported containers are worth checking before decanting.
What should a cyclohexane enquiry include?
Name the intended process, the grade, any benzene or aromatic ceiling, the residue and water limits, the volume per shipment and the destination. Attaching an existing purchase specification is faster than describing it, and it shows whether packed drums or bulk handling is intended.
