Aromatic Solvent Supplier in Malaysia (100, 150 and 200 Grades)
- Also known as
- Aromatic Hydrocarbon Solvent
- Aromatic Solvent Naphtha
Aromatic solvent supplier for coatings, printing ink, agrochemical, adhesive and oilfield formulators in Malaysia. The material is a petroleum-derived cut of C9 to C11 alkyl aromatics, sold as a clear liquid with high solvency and a slow evaporation profile. Buyers meet it under several names, including aromatic hydrocarbon solvent and heavy aromatic naphtha.
The trade divides the family by number: 100 for the lightest C9 cut, 150 for the C9 to C10 workhorse, and 200 for the heaviest. Those numbers track the approximate flash point in degrees Fahrenheit, so they double as a shorthand for where the cut sits on the distillation curve. Solvent 150, aromatic 150 and A150 all point at the same grade.
Formulators reach for these cuts when aromatic solvency is the requirement: dissolving harder resins, carrying agrochemical actives in emulsifiable concentrates, and holding flow and gloss as a coating film forms. That is the difference from the low-aromatic aliphatic and isoparaffinic solvents, and from the single aromatics xylene and toluene, which are separate products.
Send the grade number or the distillation range, flash point, aromatic content and any naphthalene limit, with the volume and delivery location. Packing, documentation and timing are covered in the offer.

Aromatic Solvent grades and forms
We supply several forms to suit different formulating and dosing setups. If you need a size that is not listed, ask us.
| Grade | Form | Assay | Typical use | Packing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Aromatic solvent 100 | clear liquid | — | The lighter C9 cut, chosen when a coating or ink needs strong aromatic solvency but has to release faster than a 150 grade allows. | Drum, IBC or iso-tank format is confirmed with the quotation. |
| Aromatic solvent 150 | clear liquid | — | The C9 to C10 workhorse cut, and the grade most industrial coating, agrochemical and ink formulations are written around. Also enquired as Solvent 150, aromatic 150 and A150. | Drum, IBC, iso-tank or road tanker, confirmed with the quotation. |
| Aromatic solvent 200 | clear liquid | — | The heavier C10 to C11 cut, used where a slow tail solvent is wanted to hold flow and gloss in baking finishes and high-build systems. | Drum, IBC or iso-tank format is confirmed with the quotation. |
| Low-naphthalene grade | clear liquid | — | Requested when the formulation or the end market caps naphthalene content. The actual figure is read off the specification for the offered material rather than assumed from the grade number. | Drum or IBC format is confirmed with the quotation. |

Specifications
| Parameter | Value | Method |
|---|---|---|
| Appearance | clear liquid, free of visible suspended matter | — |
| Composition | refinery cut of C9 to C11 alkyl aromatics, not a single substance, so no CAS number or formula is published for the grade | — |
| Distillation range | narrow and set by the grade number, from the 100 cut up to the 200 cut | — |
| Aromatic content | high, which is what distinguishes the family from aliphatic solvent cuts | — |
| Flash point | grade dependent and rising with the cut; the grade numbers follow the approximate flash point in degrees Fahrenheit | — |
| Odour | characteristic aromatic | — |
| Evaporation rate | slow, and slower again on the heavier grades | — |
| Solvency | high, usually quoted as a Kauri-butanol value on the datasheet | — |
| Naphthalene content | typical or reduced according to the grade, and read off the offered specification | — |
Aromatic Solvent applications
Safety and handling
Keep drums and tanks closed, cool and away from ignition sources. Ventilate during transfer and decanting, keep vapour out of the breathing zone and wear gloves and eye protection, because these cuts degrease skin on contact. Read the safety information issued for the quoted grade.
Common questions about aromatic solvent
What does the number in aromatic solvent 100, 150 or 200 mean?
It is the approximate flash point in degrees Fahrenheit, which is why the numbers rise with the weight of the cut. The 100 grade is the lightest C9 material, 150 sits across C9 to C10, and 200 is the heaviest.
Are aromatic solvent 150, Solvent 150 and A150 the same grade?
Yes. Those are three naming conventions for the same C9 to C10 aromatic cut, and heavy aromatic naphtha is the stream name that appears on many specifications. Quote whichever name your datasheet uses when you enquire.
Is aromatic solvent the same as xylene or toluene?
No. Xylene and toluene are single aromatic compounds with their own specifications, and this material is a mixed refinery cut of heavier C9 to C11 alkyl aromatics. Order xylene or toluene by name when the process needs one of those.
How does an aromatic cut differ from an aliphatic or isoparaffinic solvent?
Aromatic content is the dividing line. The aliphatic and isoparaffinic cuts are chosen for low odour and low aromatics, while this family is chosen precisely for the aromatic solvency that dissolves harder resins and agrochemical actives.
Which grade should I request?
Start from the release profile the process needs. The 100 grade releases fastest, 150 covers most coating, ink and agrochemical work, and 200 is selected when a slow tail solvent is needed. Send the resin system or the datasheet and the choice narrows quickly.
Can a low-naphthalene grade be requested?
Yes, state the naphthalene limit your formulation or market requires with the enquiry. The figure that applies is the one on the specification for the offered material, so no reduced-naphthalene level is assumed from the grade number alone.
Can I enquire using a producer trade name?
Yes, a familiar producer series name is a useful shorthand for the cut you have in mind. The offer will identify the grade and specification actually quoted rather than imply supply of that producer's branded product.
What is needed for an aromatic solvent price enquiry?
Send the grade number or target properties, the naphthalene position if it matters, the annual or per-order volume, the preferred packing and the delivery location. Documentation requirements are worth listing at the same time.
