Sodium Sulphide Supplier in Malaysia
- Also known as
- Sodium Sulfide
- Na2S
Sodium sulphide supplier enquiries in Malaysia commonly cover leather dehairing, mining flotation reagents, pulp and paper process chemistry, textile sulphur-dye work and industrial effluent treatment. Also known as sodium sulfide and Na2S, this inorganic sulphide salt is selected as a reducing agent and process chemical, not as sulphite, sulphate or thiosulphate.
Commercial buyers usually request sodium sulphide flakes, with crystals or hydrated solid and aqueous solution available against a stated specification. Technical and industrial grades are quoted to assay, iron content and form. Solution concentration must be buyer-specified and kept distinct from sodium hydrosulphide (NaHS).
Leather processors use sodium sulphide in beamhouse dehairing. Mines and mineral plants use it in flotation and sulphidisation circuits. Pulp, paper and textile dye houses specify it where the process recipe names a sulphide salt, while manufacturers and effluent plants use it for reduction and metal precipitation duties.
Send the required form, grade, assay or iron limit, quantity and delivery location with your enquiry. Availability, packing, documentation and delivery timing are confirmed with the quotation, together with a stated price validity period.

Sodium Sulphide grades and forms
We supply several forms to suit different formulating and dosing setups. If you need a size that is not listed, ask us.
| Grade | Form | Assay | Typical use | Packing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sodium sulphide flakes | yellow to yellow-red flakes | — | The usual commercial solid form for leather dehairing, mining flotation make-up, sulphur-dye work and general industrial reducing duty. | Confirm the required pack format with the quotation. |
| Sodium sulphide crystals or hydrated solid | crystalline or hydrated solid according to the quoted grade | — | Process and formulation work where a crystalline or hydrated solid is specified rather than commercial flakes. | Confirm the required pack format with the quotation. |
| Technical grade sodium sulphide | flakes, crystals or solid according to the quoted grade | — | General industrial reducing-agent, flotation-reagent and process-chemical use where a technical specification is written. | Confirm the required pack format with the quotation. |
| Sodium sulphide solution | aqueous solution at the buyer-specified concentration | — | Plants that prefer a pre-dissolved sulphide feed for process make-up or effluent treatment. State the required concentration; this is not sodium hydrosulphide (NaHS). | Confirm the required pack format with the quotation. |

Sodium Sulphide applications
Safety and handling
Keep sealed in a cool, dry place and protect from moisture, acids and strong oxidisers. Control dust during solid handling, avoid contact with acids that liberate hydrogen sulphide, and follow the safety information supplied with the quoted grade. Supply is subject to applicable requirements.
Common questions about sodium sulphide
Are sodium sulphide and sodium sulfide the same product?
Yes. Sodium sulphide is the British spelling and sodium sulfide is the American spelling of the same salt, Na2S. Buyers should still state form (flakes, crystals or solution), assay, iron limit and application because commercial lots differ by grade and impurity profile.
Is sodium sulphide the same as sodium hydrosulphide or NaHS?
No. Sodium sulphide is Na2S. Sodium hydrosulphide (also written sodium hydrosulfide or NaHS) is a different chemical. Do not substitute one for the other. State Na2S explicitly if the process calls for sodium sulphide, especially when requesting a solution grade.
Is sodium sulphide the same as sodium sulphite, sulphate or thiosulphate?
No. Sodium sulphide (Na2S) is not sodium sulphite, sodium sulphate or sodium thiosulphate. Those are separate salts with different process behaviour. Use the full product name and formula on purchase orders and enquiries.
Which form should I request, flakes or solution?
Flakes are the usual solid trade form for leather, mining, dye and general industrial make-up. Solution is chosen when the plant prefers a pre-dissolved feed; state the required concentration and confirm Na2S identity so the quote is not mixed with hydrosulphide solution.
What specifications should a sodium sulphide enquiry include?
State form, required Na2S assay, iron or other impurity limits, intended application, quantity and delivery location. For solution grades, give the concentration. For leather, flotation, pulp or sulphur-dye work, describe the duty so the quoted grade can be matched more closely.
How is sodium sulphide priced and packed?
Price depends on form, grade, specification, quantity, packing and delivery requirement. List preferred pack format and any documents your quality system needs with the enquiry. Packing, documentation and commercial terms are confirmed with the quotation and a stated validity period.
