Trehalose Powder Supplier in Malaysia

  • Also known as
  • Alpha,alpha-Trehalose
  • Mycose

Trehalose supplier for food, beverage, cosmetic, pharmaceutical and laboratory buyers in Malaysia. It is a non-reducing disaccharide of two glucose units joined by an alpha-1,1 linkage, made industrially by enzymatic conversion of starch, and also known as alpha,alpha-trehalose or mycose. The commercial material is the crystalline dihydrate under CAS 6138-23-4.

White crystalline powder is the standard traded form, so the grades differ by purity and documentation rather than by shape. Food grade covers bakery, confectionery, dairy and freeze-dried work, cosmetic grade serves skincare formulation, and high-purity or pharmaceutical grade supports lyophilised and biologics formulations. State any assay, residual-glucose or microbiological limit your specification sets.

Food processors take it for water and structure control in frozen, chilled and freeze-dried products. Cosmetic formulators use it as a humectant for moisture retention in skincare bases, and laboratory users buy small quantities for cryopreservation and culture media. Nutraceutical and contract dry-blending work buys it as a stated-grade raw material.

Enquiries here are for bulk raw material rather than a finished supplement, and trehalose is a separate product from the sugar alcohols such as sorbitol, xylitol and erythritol, and from glucose and maltodextrin. Give the grade, target specification, quantity and delivery point when you enquire. The quotation returns availability, pack format, documentation, route and timing, and supply is subject to applicable requirements.

How to buy trehalose from ChemTrade

Ordering

Say which grade the requirement is for, food, cosmetic, pharmaceutical or laboratory, and add any assay, residual-glucose, moisture or microbiological limit that applies. Include the intended formulation, the quantity and the delivery point so the enquiry can be quoted against the right specification.

Delivery

The quotation covers availability of the grade requested, pack format, documentation, route and timing for the delivery point given.

Pricing

Trehalose is quoted on enquiry with a stated validity period. Grade, purity, specification, quantity, packing requirement, source and delivery point all move the figure offered.

Trehalose applications

Safety and handling

Keep the powder sealed in a cool, dry place, protected from moisture and contamination, and control dust while handling it. Higher-purity grades intended for formulation work are best left in their original closed packaging until the point of use.

Common questions about trehalose

How does trehalose dihydrate relate to trehalose?

Commercial trehalose is normally supplied as the crystalline dihydrate under CAS 6138-23-4. Trehalose dihydrate is therefore the common traded form rather than an alternate name for every hydration form. Alpha,alpha-trehalose describes the linkage between its two glucose units, and mycose is an older common name.

Which trehalose grade should I request?

Food grade is the usual starting point for bakery, confectionery, dairy and frozen or freeze-dried work. Cosmetic grade suits skincare formulation, while high-purity or pharmaceutical grade is chosen for lyophilised and biologics formulations. Laboratory and cryopreservation work is normally quoted at a small pack size.

Is trehalose the same as sorbitol, xylitol or erythritol?

No. Those three are sugar alcohols bought mainly as bulk sweeteners, whereas trehalose is a disaccharide bought for stabilisation, moisture control and formulation. Each is a separate product with its own specification, so order the one your formulation needs by name.

Is trehalose the same as glucose or maltodextrin?

No. Trehalose is built from two glucose units, but the assembled disaccharide is a different material from glucose itself, and maltodextrin is a partial starch hydrolysate rather than a defined disaccharide. Ask for each of them by name.

Why do food processors specify trehalose in frozen and freeze-dried products?

It is chosen for how it holds water and supports structure through freezing, drying and storage, and because it is non-reducing it behaves differently from reducing sugars when a formulation is heated. Suitability still depends on the recipe, so describe the process and the target when enquiring.

Can trehalose be enquired for cosmetic and skincare formulation?

Cosmetic grade trehalose is commonly specified as a humectant and moisture-retention ingredient in emulsions, serums, masks and cleansers. Send the intended formulation type, use level if it is fixed, required specification and bulk quantity so the enquiry is quoted as a raw material rather than a finished product.

What packing and documents can be requested with trehalose?

Pack formats and available document sets vary with the grade and the source quoted. Include any preferred net weight and any specification sheet, safety data or certificate requirement in the enquiry, and the applicable packing and documentation are confirmed with the quotation.

What affects the quoted trehalose price?

The offer follows the grade and purity, the specification and any tighter limits, the quantity, the packing requirement, the source and the delivery point. Prices are issued on enquiry with a stated validity period rather than listed on the page.
