Calcium Sulphate Supplier in Malaysia

  • Also known as
  • Calcium Sulfate
  • CaSO4
  • E516

Calcium sulphate supplier for food processing, construction, manufacturing, agriculture and technical buyers in Malaysia. Also called calcium sulfate, CaSO4 and food additive E516, this white mineral salt is selected by hydrate form and grade rather than as a single interchangeable powder.

Commercial forms include anhydrous calcium sulphate, dihydrate gypsum, hemihydrate plaster of Paris, food-grade E516 and technical or casting grades. Gypsum and plaster of Paris are hydrate forms of the same salt, not separate chemicals, but they are not drop-in substitutes for each other in settable or food systems.

Food processors use suitable grades as firming agents, coagulant aids or mineral sources. Construction and manufacturing buyers specify gypsum or plaster of Paris for plaster, moulds, casting and ceramics, while agriculture may use dihydrate as a calcium and sulphur mineral. This page does not cover lime plaster, hydrated lime or finished gypsum board installation.

Send the required hydrate or form, grade, application, target specification, quantity and delivery location with your enquiry. Availability, packing, documentation and delivery timing are confirmed with the quotation.

How to buy calcium sulphate from ChemTrade

Ordering

Send the required hydrate or form (anhydrous, dihydrate/gypsum, hemihydrate/plaster of Paris), grade, application, target specification, quantity and delivery location with your enquiry. For hemihydrate, note any setting or strength target; for food use, name E516 or the food-grade limit.

Delivery

Availability, pack format, documentation, delivery route and timing are confirmed with the quotation.

Pricing

Calcium sulphate prices are quoted on enquiry with a stated validity period because hydrate form, grade, particle size and quantity affect the offer.

Safety and handling

Store dry and sealed, off the floor. Protect from moisture so the powder stays free-flowing and hydrate identity is preserved. Control dust during handling and follow the safety information for the quoted grade.

Common questions about calcium sulphate

Is calcium sulfate the same as calcium sulphate?

Yes. Calcium sulfate is the American spelling of calcium sulphate. Both refer to CaSO4. The hydrate form and grade still need to be stated because anhydrous material, gypsum dihydrate and plaster of Paris hemihydrate are not interchangeable in most applications.

What is the difference between anhydrous, gypsum and plaster of Paris?

Anhydrous calcium sulphate has no water of crystallisation. Gypsum is the dihydrate form. Plaster of Paris is the hemihydrate form, often used for casting and settable plaster systems. Alpha and beta hemihydrate differ in setting and strength behaviour. Name the hydrate and performance target rather than treating all forms as one stock item.

Is gypsum board installation material covered on this page?

No. This page is for chemical and industrial calcium sulphate grades used as powder or process material. Finished gypsum board systems, DIY craft kits and decorative plaster products are outside the commercial scope of this catalogue enquiry.

Can food-grade calcium sulphate (E516) be supplied?

Food-processing enquiries should state the application and the required food-grade or E516 specification. Industrial or construction grades are not automatically suitable for food use. Availability, packing and documentation for the offered grade are confirmed with the quotation.

How does calcium sulphate differ from calcium carbonate or hydrated lime?

Calcium sulphate is CaSO4 in anhydrous, dihydrate or hemihydrate form. Calcium carbonate and hydrated lime are different calcium compounds with different chemistry, pH behaviour and process roles. Lime plaster is not the same material as gypsum or plaster of Paris.

What specifications should a buyer provide for calcium sulphate?

State the intended application and any required limits for hydrate form, assay or purity basis, moisture, particle size or mesh, and setting behaviour for hemihydrate. For food use, include the E516 or food-grade limit. For a formulation already in production, include the current specification or a representative sample requirement.

Can documentation and packing be requested with the quotation?

Yes. List the required product documents and preferred pack format in the enquiry. Available documentation, packing and commercial details are confirmed for the quoted grade.

What details are needed for a calcium sulphate price enquiry?

Provide the hydrate or form, grade, application, target specification, quantity and delivery location. Mention any preferred pack format, documentation needs and required timing so the quotation can address the complete requirement.
