Silver Nitrate (AgNO3) Supplier in Malaysia
- Also known as
- AgNO3
- silver(I) Nitrate
- Lunar Caustic
Silver nitrate supplier for electroplating, laboratory, imaging and chemical manufacturing buyers in Malaysia. Also known as AgNO3, silver(I) nitrate and lunar caustic, this soluble silver salt is the usual starting point for silver plating baths, argentometric titration and many silver compound preparations.
Commercial options include technical crystals, laboratory and analytical reagent grades, electroplating grade, high-purity crystals and prepared aqueous solutions. Crystal grades are colourless to white solids that dissolve readily in water, while solutions are requested at a stated molarity or concentration for titration or process dosing.
Platers use silver nitrate for silver electroplating, contacts, conductive inks and mirror silvering. Laboratories use it for chloride and bromide titration, and manufacturers use it as a precursor for silver catalysts and photographic or imaging chemistry.
Send the required form or grade, assay or concentration, impurity limits, quantity and delivery location with your enquiry. Availability, packing, documentation and delivery timing are confirmed with the quotation.

Silver Nitrate grades and forms
We supply several forms to suit different formulating and dosing setups. If you need a size that is not listed, ask us.
| Grade | Form | Assay | Typical use | Packing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Technical grade silver nitrate crystals | colourless to white crystals | — | Industrial make-up, chemical manufacture and process work where a technical silver nitrate crystal grade meets the buyer's specification. | Confirm the required pack format with the quotation. |
| Laboratory and analytical reagent grade silver nitrate | high-purity crystals | — | Argentometric titration, halide detection and general laboratory reagent duties where tighter purity and impurity controls are required. | Confirm the required pack format with the quotation. |
| Electroplating grade silver nitrate | crystals or solution, as specified | — | Silver ion source for silver electroplating baths, silver-plated contacts and related finishing work, with assay and impurity limits matched to the bath specification. | Confirm the required pack format with the quotation. |
| High-purity silver nitrate crystals | colourless to white crystals | — | Specialty formulations, catalyst precursor work and processes that call for higher purity than a general technical grade. | Confirm the required pack format with the quotation. |
| Aqueous silver nitrate solution | clear colourless aqueous solution | — | Ready solution for titration, process dosing and plants that prefer liquid handling over dissolving crystals on site. State the target molarity or concentration with the enquiry. | Confirm the required pack format with the quotation. |

Safety and handling
- Classification
- oxidiser, corrosive, environmental hazard
- UN number
- 1493
- Hazard class
- 5.1
Store in tightly closed opaque or amber containers in a cool, dark, dry place, away from organics, reducing agents, ammonia and acids. Light decomposes silver nitrate and contact with organic material creates a fire risk. It causes severe skin and eye burns and stains skin black on contact, and is very toxic to aquatic life, so rinse water must not go to drain untreated. Handle with suitable gloves, eye protection and protective clothing. Follow the safety information for the quoted grade. Supply is subject to applicable requirements.
Common questions about silver nitrate
What grades of silver nitrate are available?
Buyers commonly request technical crystals, laboratory or analytical reagent grade, electroplating grade, high-purity crystals and prepared aqueous solutions. State the grade, assay or concentration and any impurity limits so the quotation can be matched to the requirement.
Is silver nitrate the same as AgNO3 or lunar caustic?
Yes. AgNO3 is the chemical formula and silver(I) nitrate is the formal name. Lunar caustic is a historical common name for the same silver salt. Crystal and solution forms still need to be stated separately in the enquiry.
Which silver nitrate grade is used for electroplating?
Electroplating grade silver nitrate is commonly specified as the silver ion source for silver plating baths and related finishing work. Send the required assay and impurity limits because a general technical grade may not match the bath specification.
Can laboratory grade silver nitrate be used for argentometric titration?
Laboratory and analytical reagent grades, including prepared solutions at a stated molarity, are widely used for chloride and bromide titration and halide detection. State the method, concentration and purity needs with the enquiry.
Do you supply silver nitrate crystals and aqueous solution?
Both crystal and prepared aqueous solution forms are commercial market options for silver nitrate. Confirm the solid or solution form, target assay or concentration, quantity and packing preference with the enquiry. Availability is confirmed with the quotation.
What details are needed for a silver nitrate price enquiry?
Provide the form or grade, assay or concentration basis, impurity limits, application, quantity and delivery location. Mention any preferred pack format, documentation needs and required timing so the quotation can address the complete requirement.
How is silver nitrate packed and handled?
Pack format depends on grade, quantity and destination and is confirmed with the quotation. Solid grades are typically light-protected; solutions need concentration and container details stated. Silver nitrate is an oxidiser and corrosive, so handling and storage controls apply for the quoted grade.
