Common questions about soya bean oil
Are soya bean oil and soybean oil the same product?
Yes. Soya bean oil and soybean oil are alternate spellings of the same vegetable oil from soya beans. Soya oil is another short trade name. Still state the required grade and end use, because crude, degummed, RBD and industrial material are specified differently.
What is the difference between crude, degummed and RBD soya bean oil?
Crude oil is the unrefined starting material. Degummed oil has had gums reduced and is often an intermediate before full refining. RBD means refined, bleached and deodorised material used as finished edible oil in food manufacturing. Name the grade your process requires in the enquiry.
Is soya bean oil the same as soy lecithin or soy protein?
