What is thiourea used for?

Is thiourea the same as urea?
No. Thiourea is the sulphur analogue in which the oxygen of urea is replaced by sulphur, and the two are used for completely different purposes. They are separate products with separate pages here, so order thiourea by name when a specification calls for it.
Is thiourea the same as thiourea dioxide?
No. Thiourea dioxide is a distinct reducing agent used in bleaching and dye stripping, and it is not a grade of thiourea. If your process sheet names thiourea dioxide, state that in the enquiry so the correct material is quoted.
Which thiourea form should I request, crystal, flake or powder?
