Ferric Chloride (FeCl3) Supplier in Malaysia

  • Also known as
  • FeCl3
  • iron(III) Chloride
  • Iron Trichloride

Ferric chloride supplier for water-treatment, electronics, process and industrial buyers in Malaysia. Also called iron(III) chloride, iron trichloride and FeCl3, this iron(III) salt is selected as a coagulant, copper etchant and process reagent where the chloride anion is specified.

Commercial supply covers dark aqueous solutions, including the widely traded about 40% FeCl3 coagulant grade, PCB etchant solutions, and solid anhydrous or hydrate material for on-site dissolution. Grades are described by FeCl3 or iron content, free acidity and form rather than by a single universal strength.

Treatment plants dose ferric chloride to remove turbidity, colour, phosphate and sulphide and to condition sludge. Electronics manufacturers use it to etch copper boards, while manufacturing, oil and gas and mining buyers may specify it as a catalyst, H2S scavenger or oxidising leach reagent.

Send the required form or grade, strength or specification, application, quantity and delivery location with your enquiry. Availability, packing, documentation and delivery timing are confirmed with the quotation.

Ferric Chloride applications

Safety and handling

Classification
corrosive

Store solution in lined or plastic tanks and drums in a bunded, vented area. Keep solid material sealed and dry. Ferric chloride is strongly acidic, attacks mild steel, concrete and many metals, and stains surfaces. Keep away from bases and cyanides. Use face protection, apron and chemical-resistant gloves for liquid handling. Supply is subject to applicable requirements.

Common questions about ferric chloride

Are ferric chloride, FeCl3 and iron(III) chloride the same product?

Yes. Ferric chloride, FeCl3, iron(III) chloride and iron trichloride name the same iron(III) chloride product family. Commercial supply is often a dark aqueous solution around 40% FeCl3, while solid anhydrous or hydrate grades are also traded. State the form and strength in the enquiry.

Is 40% ferric chloride the only grade available?

No. About 40% aqueous FeCl3 is a common commercial coagulant solution, but it is not the only identity of the product. Other solution strengths, PCB etchant grades and solid anhydrous or hydrate forms are requested against the buyer's specification. Do not assume every ferric chloride offer is a 40% solution.

What is ferric chloride used for in water treatment and electronics?

In water and wastewater treatment it is dosed as an iron coagulant for turbidity, colour, phosphate and sulphide removal and for sludge conditioning. In electronics it is the standard copper PCB etchant and is also used for metal photo-etching. State the duty so the suitable grade can be quoted.

How does ferric chloride differ from ferric sulfate or PAC?

Ferric chloride is the iron(III) chloride salt (FeCl3). Ferric sulfate is an iron(III) sulfate coagulant and poly aluminium chloride is an aluminium coagulant family. They are not interchangeable without checking dose, alkalinity demand and plant performance. Keep the chloride identity clear in the enquiry.

What specifications should a buyer provide for ferric chloride?

State solution or solid form, target FeCl3 or iron content, free acidity limits if known, coagulant or etchant duty, preferred packing, quantity and delivery location. For an existing plant dose or etch bath, include the current specification so the quoted grade can be matched more closely.

What details are needed for a ferric chloride price enquiry?

Provide form or grade, strength or assay target, application, quantity and delivery location. Mention any preferred packing, documentation needs and timing so the quotation can address the full requirement.
