Common questions about sodium persulfate
Is sodium persulfate the same as sodium persulphate?
Yes, one material under two spellings. Datasheets and export documents usually print persulfate while a good deal of Malaysian trade writing uses persulphate. Sodium peroxydisulfate, sodium peroxodisulfate and the abbreviation SPS all name the same salt.
How does sodium persulfate differ from the ammonium and potassium salts?
The oxidising persulfate ion is the same in all three, so the cation is what you are choosing. Sodium is the most water-soluble of the three and leaves a sodium residue rather than ammonia or potassium, which is why it suits concentrated aqueous make-up. Order the specific salt your recipe names.
Which grade suits printed circuit board etching?
Etch lines normally ask for a higher-purity electronic grade with tighter chloride, iron and insolubles limits than bulk technical material, because carry-over shows up on the board. Send the bath chemistry, target etch rate and any purity limits with the enquiry.
