Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) Supplier Malaysia
- Also known as
- TPU
- TPU Elastomer
- Thermoplastic Urethane
Thermoplastic polyurethane supplier for moulding, extrusion, film, cable, footwear and industrial component buyers in Malaysia. TPU is a segmented polyurethane elastomer supplied as a melt-processable resin, combining rubber-like flexibility with the production methods used for thermoplastics.
The main commercial distinction is between polyester-based and polyether-based TPU. Polyester grades are widely selected for abrasion resistance and mechanical strength, while polyether grades are often chosen where hydrolysis resistance and low-temperature flexibility carry more weight. Both families span a broad hardness range.
Injection and extrusion grades are used for footwear parts, seals, wheels, tubing, hose, cable jacketing, profiles and protective components. Film, powder and adhesive grades also serve textile lamination, synthetic leather, flexible coatings and hot-melt bonding.
Send the required backbone type, Shore hardness, processing method, colour, performance targets, quantity and delivery location with your enquiry. Availability, packing, documentation and delivery timing are confirmed with the quotation.

Thermoplastic Polyurethane grades and forms
We supply several forms to suit different formulating and dosing setups. If you need a size that is not listed, ask us.
| Grade | Form | Assay | Typical use | Packing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Polyester-based thermoplastic polyurethane | pellets or granules | — | Wheels, belts, seals, footwear and technical mouldings where abrasion, oil resistance and mechanical strength are important selectors. | Confirm the required pack format with the quotation. |
| Polyether-based thermoplastic polyurethane | pellets or granules | — | Cable, hose, film and flexible parts where hydrolysis resistance and low-temperature flexibility are prioritised over the polyester option. | Confirm the required pack format with the quotation. |
| Injection-moulding TPU | dry, free-flowing pellets | — | Moulded footwear parts, seals, grips, rollers and technical components selected by hardness, flow and demoulding requirements. | Confirm the required pack format with the quotation. |
| Extrusion TPU | dry, free-flowing pellets | — | Hose, tubing, cable jacketing, profiles and sheet where melt strength, surface finish and dimensional control are matched to the line. | Confirm the required pack format with the quotation. |
| TPU film, coating and adhesive grade | pellets, powder or solution-process grade as specified | — | Breathable or protective films, textile lamination, hot-melt adhesive and specialty coating applications requiring flexible thermoplastic bonding. | Confirm the required form and pack format with the quotation. |

Thermoplastic Polyurethane applications
Safety and handling
Keep TPU sealed and dry because absorbed moisture can affect melt processing and finished-part quality. Store away from heat and contamination, dry the resin according to the quoted grade guidance and follow its safety information.
Common questions about thermoplastic polyurethane
What is the difference between polyester and polyether TPU?
Polyester TPU is commonly selected for abrasion resistance, mechanical strength and resistance to oils, while polyether TPU is often preferred for hydrolysis resistance, microbial resistance and low-temperature flexibility. The final choice depends on the complete exposure and performance target.
Which TPU hardness grade should I request?
Specify the Shore scale and target value, not only soft, medium or hard. Hardness interacts with modulus, tensile strength, flex and processing behaviour, so include the current grade or finished-part requirements.
Is TPU the same as cast polyurethane or thermoset polyurethane?
No. TPU is a melt-processable thermoplastic elastomer that can be injection moulded or extruded. Cast and thermoset polyurethane systems cure through a chemical reaction and cannot be selected or reprocessed in the same way.
Does thermoplastic polyurethane need drying before processing?
TPU can absorb moisture, and wet resin may cause bubbles, surface defects or property loss during melt processing. Follow the drying temperature, time and moisture limit stated for the offered grade rather than using one setting for every TPU.
Can flame-retardant, UV-stabilised or coloured TPU be requested?
Yes. State the required colour, test standard and performance target, along with the application and processing route. The quotation confirms whether a suitable modified grade and supporting documentation can be offered.
How do I request a TPU price in Malaysia?
Provide the backbone type, hardness, processing method, colour, key performance targets, quantity and delivery location. A current grade code or technical sheet helps distinguish a genuine match from a general TPU offer.
