Zinc Ingot Supplier in Malaysia for Galvanising and Die-Casting
- Also known as
- Zinc Metal Ingot
- Zinc Slab
Zinc ingot is refined zinc metal cast into ingots for galvanising, die-casting, alloying and zinc chemical production. As a zinc ingot supplier to Malaysian galvanisers, foundries and metal traders, ChemTrade quotes against the purity grade and the impurity limits a buyer states.
Grade is the first decision. Special high grade is specified at 99.995% zinc minimum, high grade at 99.95% and prime western at 98.5%, and most galvanisers and die-casters name the grade before anything else. Maximum lead, cadmium and iron figures usually sit beside the zinc content in the written specification.
Ingot weight and bundled or loose presentation are handling questions rather than identity, so state the format your melting shop or store can take. Cast ingot is not interchangeable with zinc dust or zinc powder, which are fine metallic particles bought for coatings and chemical reduction. It is a different product again from the zinc chemicals, including zinc oxide, zinc chloride and zinc sulphate.
Send the grade, impurity limits, ingot format, tonnage and delivery location with your enquiry. Refined zinc pricing moves with the exchange, so the quotation carries a current figure with a stated validity period rather than a number published here.

Zinc Ingot grades and forms
We supply several forms to suit different formulating and dosing setups. If you need a size that is not listed, ask us.
| Grade | Form | Assay | Typical use | Packing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Special high grade zinc ingot (SHG) | cast zinc metal ingot | 99.995% Zn minimum | The purity most galvanisers and die-casters name first, chosen where lead, cadmium and iron have to stay low for bath chemistry or casting quality. | Ingot weight and whether the metal is bundled or loose are confirmed with the quotation. |
| High grade zinc ingot | cast zinc metal ingot | 99.95% Zn | General galvanising duty, brass and bronze alloying, and remelt work where the written specification accepts a purity below the special high grade figure. | Ingot weight and bundle format are confirmed with the quotation. |
| Prime western zinc ingot | cast zinc metal ingot | 98.5% Zn | The lowest of the three standard trade purities, used where a wider lead and iron tolerance is acceptable, including feedstock for zinc chemical manufacture. | Ingot weight and bundle format are confirmed with the quotation. |

Zinc Ingot applications
Safety and handling
Keep ingots dry and clear of acids and strong alkalis, and store bundles on level ground with rated lifting gear for handling. Melting zinc gives off fume, so use extraction and the protective equipment set out in the safety information for the grade quoted.
Common questions about zinc ingot
Is zinc ingot the same as zinc dust or zinc oxide?
No. Zinc ingot is cast zinc metal bought by the tonne for melting, galvanising and alloying. Zinc dust is a fine reactive metallic particle used in coatings and chemical reduction, and zinc oxide is a white zinc compound used as a powder in rubber, ceramics and formulation work. Order each by name so the enquiry reaches the right material.
Which zinc ingot grade should I request?
Special high grade at 99.995% zinc suits galvanising baths and die-casting alloys where impurities affect the result. High grade at 99.95% covers general galvanising, brass alloying and remelt duty. Prime western at 98.5% carries a wider impurity tolerance and is often bought as chemical feedstock.
What does SHG zinc mean?
SHG stands for special high grade, the trade shorthand for refined zinc specified at 99.995% zinc minimum. Buyers who quote SHG normally also state maximum lead, cadmium and iron figures, so send those limits with the enquiry rather than the grade name on its own.
What ingot weight and bundle format can be quoted?
Ingot weight and whether the metal arrives bundled or loose are handling choices rather than part of the product identity, so state what your melting shop or store can take. The format available against a given grade is confirmed with the quotation.
Can zinc alloy ingot such as ZAMAK be quoted?
Zinc alloy ingot is a separate product identity from refined zinc ingot, because the aluminium, magnesium and copper content is part of the alloy specification. Send the alloy designation and specification separately by name so it is not quoted against a refined zinc grade.
What information does a zinc ingot quotation need?
Send the grade or zinc percentage, impurity limits, ingot and bundle format, tonnage, delivery location and intended use. Mention documentation your quality system needs so the offer covers it. Supply is subject to applicable requirements.
